George’s practice focuses on providing advice and handling litigation in relation to first-party and third-party liability insurance coverage claims involving residential policies, personal and commercial automobile policies and commercial general liability policies.  He represents insurers in coverage and priority litigation, including with respect to property cases (e.g. building collapse, flooding, fire, environmental contamination) and casualty cases.  He also handles cases involving the underwriting of policies and the liability of insurance agents/brokers.

George also prosecutes property damage actions pertaining to product liability and general negligence.  He has a science background, with a degree in biophysics, and worked in positions involving medical imaging research prior to his life in law.  This has helped him to work collaboratively with numerous engineers and other experts to advance his clients’ interests.

George has worked primarily for insurers since completing his law degree.  He has handled insurance defence litigation involving motor vehicle liability, occupier’s liability and commercial general liability actions.  He has significant experience defending third-party bodily injury claims and first-party automobile accident benefits claims.

George is interested in all aspects of litigation.  He has conducted numerous examinations for discovery, motions and mediations, and has experience conducting examinations under oath in suspected fraud cases.  He has appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Small Claims Court and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario.

Outside of work, George enjoys relaxing (and not relaxing) with family and friends, playing and watching sports, travelling and keeping up with current events.
